Relation between properties, unit type and unit

21 views 0 December 5, 2022 Updated on December 11, 2022 mippsupportadmin

The following explains the fundamentals of Mi property portal:

Property: Property is the collection of one or more unit types. In our portal, property means a single dwelling, an apartment building, a condo unit or a multi-storied building.

Unit Type: A unit type is the categorization of one or more units. For example, a unit type could be a studio apartment, one-bedroom suite, two-bedroom unit and so on.

Unit: Unit is the living space that you rent out to a tenant.

Note: Unit type is for vacancy advertisement purposes and Unit is the one you can rent to a tenant.

One property can have one or more unit types. One unit type can have one or more units.

What is the purpose of unit type?

If you are renting a vacant property, you usually advertise that you have a one-bedroom unit available, not unit 101 available, which is a one-bedroom type unit. Even though this example fits largely for the multi-storied building, the concept still applies to a single-dwelling house as well. The sole concept of the unit type is for vacancy advertisement purposes. You can add unlimited unit types for a specific property. You can do it without associating any unit and there is no cost to it. The system automatically creates unit type based on the number of bedrooms, Bathroom, Rent, SqFt.
