A common problem when a tenant moves out: Outstanding Rent Report still shows that a tenant who has moved out and their status is moved out owes rent.
Example: Tenant moving out on October 16, 2021
Although the tenant Move-out date has been set as Oct 16, 2021. The move-out was logged into the system on Oct 25, 2021.
FYI, our system generates invoices 11 days before the rent due date. The invoice for November rent was generated on 20th October (on this day system didn’t know the tenant was moving out).
When the tenant’s move-out date is set, and move out date is before the invoice due date, our system doesn’t submit auto pay for those invoices. So, even if the auto pay was ON for this tenant. The system will not submit a payment for the Nov rent (as the tenant is moving out before Nov 1).
For this, you can SAFELY delete the rental invoice.
Rental invoices after the move-out date can be deleted during the move-out process. If a move-out is scheduled for a tenant, at the time of the move-out, the system will delete all the rental invoices (with invoice date after moving out date).
Follow the steps below to delete rental invoices:
- Go to Tenant Management > Tenant.
- Choose the tenant that you want to move out (click the arrow icon)
- Click Action > Move Out Tenant.
- Fill in the required field, Move out Date, Move out Reason,
- Tick the ‘Delete all ‘Rental Invoices’ with the invoice date after the move-out date (if any).’
- Note: (Rental invoices with no payment(s) will be deleted when selected) (Non-rental invoices, with invoice date after move-out date, need to be deleted manually if required.)
- Once done, click Confirm Move Out.
