How Free Rental Listing Works?

139 views 0 November 30, 2022 Updated on April 28, 2025 mippsupportadmin

Mi Property Portal offers a FREE rental listing service to help you advertise your vacant properties effortlessly. You can list unlimited units for unlimited days—completely free. This service also includes features like online rent applications, rental lead management, and tenant screening to streamline your rental management process.

How Does It Work?

  1. Add a Unit Type
    • First, add a property to the portal.
    • Then, create a unit type for that property.
    • Once added, the unit will automatically appear on our rental listing website: rentalportal.ca.
    • You can easily toggle the listing on or off.
  2. How Prospective Renters Find Listings
    • Renters can search for properties by city, address, or postal code—just like other rental websites.
    • Our service provides more than just a listing; it gives you powerful tools to market and manage your vacancies.

Ways to Advertise Vacancies

We provide three options for sharing your listings:

  1. Listings by Client (All Properties)
    • Advertise all your vacancies under a single URL.
    • Example: https://rentalportal.ca/C00001
    • C00001 represents your rental listing code.
  2. Listings by Property (Specific Property)
    • Share vacancies for a specific building using a property-specific URL.
    • Example: https://rentalportal.ca/P0085
    • P0085 is the code for a particular property.
  3. Listings by Unit Type (Individual Units)
    • Highlight an individual vacant unit with its unique URL.
    • Example: https://rentalportal.ca/T0139
    • T0139 is the code for a specific unit type.

How to Share These Listings

You can easily promote your listings using the following methods:

    • Post URLs directly to platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn from the portal.
  • Embed on Your Website
    • Add the URLs to your website so renters can browse and submit applications online.

Website Integration Options

We offer two simple ways to integrate rental listings into your website:

  1. Using iFrame Code
    • Easily embed rental listings on your website with just a few lines of code.
    • Follow this guide for instructions on how to integrate vacancy listings on your website.
  2. Using API
    • You can use our rental listing API if you prefer a more customized integration.
    • This requires assistance from a web developer.
    • API Documentation: Mi Property Portal API.

Quick Tips

  • Always ensure the ‘For Rent’ option is checked when creating unit types.
  • To find the URLs:
    • All Properties: Go to the top-right corner of the Properties List page.
    • Specific Property: Look in the Listing Section of the Property Details page.
    • Individual Units: Use the Listing Section of the Unit Type page.
