How the Electronic Signature Process Works

151 views 0 November 30, 2022 Updated on April 15, 2026 mippsupportadmin

Mi Property Portal helps property managers handle lease signing online, so tenants, landlords, and owners can sign without paperwork.

Before You Start

You must first create a new lease. E-signature works from the lease process inside the portal.

Steps

  1. Go to Tenant Management > Tenant Lease.

  2. Click Create New Lease.

  3. Select the Property, Unit, and Landlord/Owner.

  4. Click Start Lease and complete all 8 steps.

  5. After the lease is created, click Submit.
Note: The lease must be approved before signature requests can be sent.

  6. Review the information carefully, then click Approve this Lease.

  7. The lease status changes to Awaiting Signature Request (Tenant).

  8. Click Request Signature to Tenant.

  9. Wait for the tenant to sign the agreement.

  10. Click Review Signature and then Mark Complete.

  11. After tenant signature is completed, the status changes to Awaiting Landlord Signature.

  12. Click Send Email for Signature to request the landlord or property owner signature.

  13. Once the landlord signs, click Review Signature > Mark Complete > Confirm.

  14. Click Create Tenant.

  15. Verify the tenant information.
You can choose not to send the tenant an email by checking the box.

  16. Click Submit.

What Happens Next

  • The lease status changes to Active.

  • A new tenant profile is created.

  • The tenant can receive an email to join the Tenant Portal.

Important Notes

  • E-signature works only for new system-generated leases.

  • The tenant signature must be completed before the landlord signature request is sent.

  • The portal can also send signature requests to co-applicants or additional tenants if needed.

This version keeps the process clear, sequential, and easier for clients to follow.
