How to Create Profiles for Multiple Tenants on One Lease

Mi Property Portal’s updated lease creation supports multiple tenants with automatic rent splitting—no extra time needed.

Step 1: Start New Lease

  1. Go to Tenant Management > Tenant Lease > Create New Lease.

  2. Select Property, Unit, and Owner > Start Lease Process.

Step 2: Add Primary + Additional Tenants

  1. Primary Tenant: Enter First Name, Last Name, Phone, Email (at least one contact method required; email mandatory if email notices selected).

  2. Additional Tenants: Click Yes to add more.

  3. Repeat tenant info fields for each additional tenant > Next.

Step 3: Complete Lease Wizard

  • Set Lease dates + Rent start date > Next

  • Choose Rent frequency + Due date > Verify Monthly rent > Next

  • Set Insurance + Smoking rules > Next

  • Select Utilities included (Gas, AC, etc.) > Next

  • Add Custom terms (optional) > Next

  • Choose System Generated Lease > Review > Submit

Step 4: Approve Lease

  1. Approve & Skip Signatures (fastest option—no e-signatures needed).

  2. Or Approve Lease > Send signature emails to tenants/landlords.

Step 5: Create Separate Tenant Profiles

  1. Click Create Tenant.

  2. In confirmation popup, go to Additional Tenant Profile tab.

  3. Check “Create Separate Tenant Profile”.

  4. Notice rent automatically divides equally among all tenants > Submit.
